‘Community is our Strength’

Welcome

Brimscombe Mill is a social enterprise hub where business can be a force for good, helping people, society and the planet to flourish to build a more just and connected local economy.

From pay as you can meals and affordable second hand furniture to bike repairs and children’s essentials our vision is rooted in shared purpose and community involvement.

When we were at risk of losing our home in 2024, it was the strength of this community and a surprise donation from actor Daniel Craig that helped secure our future here.

Author of Doughnut Economics Kate Raworth said after her visit:
“Thank you for inviting me into your community. The buzz of activity in Brimscombe Mill, and the warmth of company at the Long Table gave me such a strong sense of the regenerative and distributive future we know we can create. I hope many more people keep coming through your doors to experience it for themselves.”

We’re proud to be named one of the UK’s top 100 social enterprises in the NatWest SE100 Awards 2025. This national recognition celebrates organisations using business as a force for good, those combining purpose, resilience, and real community impact. For us, it’s a powerful affirmation of the work we do every day here at Brimscombe Mill and we are so grateful to be included alongside these inspirational businesses.
