Ecka Mordecai + Spirited Followers
Sealionwoman, is vocalist Kitty Whitelaw and double bass player Tye McGivern. Together they craft a unique and defiantly uncategorisable sound. Whitelaw’s rich and beguiling vocal delivery and McGivern’s atmospheric, inventive approach to his instrument creates melancholy soundscapes, torch-song transgressions and rapturous drama.
In late 2018 they released their first album “Siren” with Antigen records, and their second album is currently in production. Kitty and Tye have been collaborating for many years and have played numerous live venues in the UK including EARTH Hackney, Union Chapel and Cafe Oto. They have also had the opportunity to support incredible acts such as Meursault, Tanya Tagaq, Bohren and der Club of Gore, Sarathy Kowar, and Collocutor.
“Sealionwoman’s music flips folk music on its head, taking traditional Scottish music and moving it into a darker, more atmospheric direction...” The Quietus
“Björk, Billie Holiday and The Anchoress come to mind while listening to Kitty Whitelaw’s exquisite vocals… It’s Mercury Prize bait, this – haunting, monolithic soundscapes…” Prog Magazine
18:00-20:00 Kitchen open - always pay-as-you-can. Bar ‘till 21:30
19:30 Sanctum - Sealionwoman
This is an intimate gig with limited spaces. Please choose from the tickets below and click through to the checkout page for either option.

Robin Ince - Normally Weird and Weirdly Normal: My Adventures in Neurodiversity- Yellow Lighted Bookshop event
We are delighted to be hosting Robin Ince again (3rd time lucky), on the publication of his powerful, personal exploration of anxiety, ADHD and neurodiversity. Normally Weird and Weirdly Normal reminds us all – no matter how weird we feel – that it’s okay to be a little different. We all are. What if being a bit weird is actually entirely normal? What if sharing our internal struggles wasn’t a sign of weakness, but strength?
