A brand new celebration of circular clothing, creative community and sustainable living for Stroud!
We’re delighted to share that Brimscombe Mill will host the very first Just SUST Festival — a new, joyful day of workshops, making, mending, inspiration and community creativity centred on the possibilities of circular clothing.
Created for all ages, Just SUST aligns closely with the Mill’s values: local craft, environmental responsibility, community connection, and the belief that meaningful change can also be joyful. It is supporting the work of Sustainable Fashion Week.
🌱 What’s Happening in the Daytime
From 11am–4pm the Mill will be filled with hands-on, drop-in activities you can enjoy at your own pace, including:
Textile demos from skilled local makers
Pop-in workshops on mending, stitching, reworking and creative upcycling
Makers' stalls
Repair groups and sewing circles sharing techniques and ideas
5pm - A ticketed Film screening: Woman Grows Jeans + Q&A in partnership with Stroud Film Festival (tickets on sale soon)
A buzzing, friendly environment to try new skills, meet others and explore sustainable approaches to clothing
All daytime activities are completely free, thanks to generous community support.
🧵 The Evening: Runway of the Preloved (Ticketed)
From 7pm, the Mill transforms into a vibrant celebration of reclaimed design:
✨ The Community Runway Show of the Preloved
A joyful showcase of stitched, reimagined, mended and transformed garments created by people across Stroud and beyond. Expect creativity, flair, courage and a wonderful atmosphere of shared purpose.
The evening also includes:
A performance by Boss Morris - Stroud's legendary Morris dancing side
DJ sets & dancing
Pay-as-you-can hot food + bar from the Long Table
Community celebration of creativity and circularity
Tickets for the Sanctuary Runway will be available soon and are expected to sell quickly.
NB the show's visuals will also be streamed live into the main Long Table area for those supporting performers or affected by the cost of living.
