Accessibility at Brimscombe Mill
What can you find here?
Welcome to Brimscombe Mill. We thrive to be as accessible to as many people in our community as possible. We do understand that there are constraints in an old building such as ours and so we have worked as hard as possible to make it more accessible.
We have put some info below on what the accessibility is like at Brimscombe Mill, however we have also made a quick video which hopfully will show you what to expect.
Useful information

Our site is mainly all on one level with ramps to get into the building. Once inside our site is wheelchair friendly. If you do need any help getting around please do ask any members of staff.
The only enterprise which has stair access is Climbing Commons. If you have any access requirements to use their facility do get in touch with them here and they will be happy to help where they can.
-
We have a disabled toilet onsite with ramped access. This is outside in the green container next to the other toilets on site.
-
Our disabled parking is at the front of the site next to the Sanctuary.
-
The majority of dining tables have bench seating, however we have designated some tables to have chairs instead. If this seating is taken and you need a bench replaced with chairs do let a member of staff know and they will be happy to replace the bench seating.
-
We do understand that our kitchen serving hatch is too high for some people, we are looking into how we can fix this, however in the meantime if you need any help with your meal do let a member of staff know and they will be happy to help serve you.
Our food is self service, however if you need your meal bought to the table we are happy to do so. Please just let a member of staff know.
-
Please do use our retreat room just outside the Home Remedy door. It is a private room with a window to the river. Perfect for taking 10 minutes to yourself. Flip the in use sign over when using and you will not be interupted.
-
We are housed in a historic warehouse, therefore do not have central heating. We do have spot heaters around the site and cosy log burner in our dining space.
However, we do advise you to dress warm in the winter.
-
Our play area is on two levels, however the ground level is accessible with no steps.
We have a communication board on the playarea wall.
