Join local charity Building Circles for their exhibition the Sanctuary; The Art Of Circles.
An exhibition born out of the fundamental need for human connection. In December 2024 Building Circles started an art class in Gloucester with the intention of supporting socially isolated people to form friendships. What they didn’t anticipate was the talent and creativity that came spilling out as a result. Their inspiration comes from a breadth of artists, art history and techniques, from Hockney and Georgia O’Keefe to psychedelic album art and Medieval illuminated manuscripts.
Each week’s subject has instigated lively and honest discussions around what art is, how it makes us feel and what it means to us. Art is the gateway to the many meandering conversations we have about life, love, politics, nature, football and most frequently – music! By doing so, we’ve truly got to know each other.
Over time we have evolved into a tight knit, supportive group, in which individuals have the space, time and encouragement to develop their own practice. We’re so pleased to be able to share this with you.
