Crafternoon with Leigh: Make Cynotype Prints

Ready to make some magic art!

Create beautiful blue-and-white & Tumeric sun prints in this fun and creative cyanotype/anthotype workshop! Using A5-sized paper coated with a light-sensitive solution/natural tumeric, children will arrange leaves, flowers, letters, shells and other interesting objects to make their own unique designs.

The prints are then exposed to sunlight and developed with water, revealing magical images before their eyes.

Part art, part science, this hands-on activity encourages creativity, experimentation, and exploration. No experience is needed—just imagination and a sense of curiosity. Every participant will leave with their own one-of-a-kind cyanotype/anthotype artwork to take home.

You may wish to collect a few small leaves, flowers, or other flat objects from home or the garden to include in your design, although a selection of materials will also be provided.

A little patience will be required after the artwork has been created as we wait for the sun/light to expose the artworks and create the print magic!

Aimed at school age children

There are two time slots 13:00-14:00 & 14:15-15:15.

The session is £3 a person. As always we want this session to be accessible to all and there are free sessions for you to book on to.

Parents or carers will need to stay on site whilst this event is taking place.
