Telling the story of Ahmet – a Syrian refugee boy who has joined a new school in the UK, this internationally acclaimed story sees his classmates determined to help him find his family in any way they can. Delving into her own writing journeys and ongoing refugee human rights works, Onjali highlights the crucial truths behind the headlines of the ‘refugee crisis’ and growing anti-refugee sentiment – and the power we each have to do something about it.
Ideal for readers aged 9 and up.
Children must be accompanied by an adult and due to room capacity everyone must have a ticket. Please book a ticket for everyone in your party. There is a free option for children 1 year and under.
This session is £4.5 a person. As always we want this session to be accessible to all and there are free sessions for you to book on us.
Talk times 15:45-16:30. There will be a book signing next door in the main Mill building from 16:30 after the show.

Onjali is the founder of Making Herstory, an organisation that mobilises men, women, and children from all walks of life to pro-actively deal with the abuse and trafficking of women and girls in the UK and beyond. She is also the founder of O’s Refugee Aid Team, an organisation that provides much needed support for refugee families surviving in Calais and Dunkirk.
